My History
My passion for bird hunting started a little over 20 years ago with a Chocolate Lab named Casey after a friend who got me interested in chasing Grouse in Michigan. Since then, I have had a lot of different dogs with my focus on Upland and Waterfowl hunting using both pointing and flushing dogs. I started working with hunt test groups and eventually started judging in the hunt tests. From there I became associated with some great dog trainers(like Scott Brosier at Pine Hill) and absorbed all the knowledge that I could.
What I Hunt Most
Ruffed Grouse, Pheasant, Woodcock, Ducks
Why I Love Guiding
I love to share my passion for bird hunting with others and especially new and young hunters. It is really exciting to see them get birds for the first time. The other thing is the dog work. I have been blessed by having some really good dogs and am amazed at the talent they have in the field. Being able to share both my passion for the sport and the love of the dogs makes every hunt special for me.
My Dogs
I have a variety of dogs that I like to hunt and guide with. I have a 7 year old Deutsch Drahthaar named Augie who has been guiding all his life. His enthusiasm for the hunt is over the top. I have a 3 year old Yellow Lab named Chance who has been guiding for a few years. He loves to hunt and flush birds close. The newest dog is another Deutsch Drahthaar named Bruno. He is less than 1 year old, but shows a lot of promise and desire in the field.
