My Interests
I am a life long hunter pursuing everything Michigan has had to offer as well as travelling out west to hunt Elk, Mule Deer, and Pheasants. I am currently breaking in two teenage boys to the world of Grouse and Woodcock hunting. It’s been a very much enjoyable experience watching them figure out how to identify and hit those woods rockets while learning to work with the dog in the upland cover. When I am not bird hunting, I am hopefully sitting twenty feet in the air with a bow in my hand, or attempting to catch something that swims.
My Dogs
I grew up with English Setters and Beagles, and have owned several other breeds of bird dogs. I have since settled in with a Drahthaar from vom Brosius Kennels named Griffin, and an older English Springer Spaniel named Aurra.
Becoming a Pine Hill Guide
I got into guiding for Pine Hill in order to put my dogs on more birds throughout the year, and have found it to be worth much more. It has improved my dog handling skills significantly, and I have come to greatly enjoy the interactions and comradery with the hunting patrons of Pine Hill.
I look forward to many more days afield, helping hunters at Pine Hill fulfill there hunting goals, and hopefully talking more people into becoming further involved with the outdoors and all it has to offer.
